Perhaps one of the more unexpected announcements from Apple’s WWDC event last week was the unveiling of a new 13-inch MacBook Pro that will be equipped with Apple’s new M2 processor. While it was initially hinted by Apple that the new MacBook would become available in July, preorder pages are currently live at multiple retailers, with deliveries and in-store availability beginning on June 24th.

Currently, you can only preorder configurations of the new 13-inch MacBook through the Apple storefront or through a small handful of authorized resellers that we’ll list on this page as more retailers make preorders available.

Amazon

Amazon has preorders available for the 256GB and 512GB configurations of the M2 MacBook, with orders shipping on June 24th. However, configurations with additional RAM or SSD storage are currently unavailable.

Apple

As you might have guessed, Apple has all the makes and models of its new MacBook Pro available for preorder, with units shipping on June 24th. Also, like many of the other products you can purchase directly from Apple, your preorder is eligible for a price reduction if you trade in a qualifying Apple product.

Adorama

Adorama has the same 256GB and 512GB models up for preorder as Amazon, with a note stating that Apple will begin shipping the MacBook Pro starting on June 24th. You should also note that Adorama allows you to trade in certain Apple products for an Adorama gift card if you’re looking to upgrade from a previous model.

B&H Photo

Because B&H photo is an authorized Apple reseller, it has all colors and configurations of the new MacBook Pro available for preorder. This includes the base 256GB and 512GB models, which can be upgraded with up to 24GB of RAM and 2TB of storage if you need it.

Best Buy

Best Buy is offering the standard 256GB and 512GB MacBook Pro in both silver and space gray, with a shipping date of June 24th. Members of Best Buy’s Totaltech program also automatically receive 24 months of AppleCare Plus, which extends your product’s warranty, grants you additional tech support, and increases protection against incidental damage. Best Buy also offers a trade-in program that can reduce the cost of your order, but it typically requires you to bring the product into a brick-and-mortar store for an appraisal first.

The new 13-inch MacBook Pro will be available in several configurations in either silver or space gray. While the models share many of the same specs, they can all be configured with up to 24GB of RAM and 2TB of SSD storage. The least expensive model starts at $1,299.99 and comes equipped with 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD, but it’s also possible to spend as much as $2,499.99 for a model that pulls out all the stops. We haven’t had a chance to try out any of these new models of the MacBook Pro, but the new M2 CPU is sure to give it a leg up on Apple’s previous 13-inch model, even if the hardware is largely the same otherwise. It even retains the divisive Touch Bar, and includes active cooling to keep the M2 processor operating at peak performance even when handling heavier projects.
