Tern’s new Orox is a cargo e-bike for adventurers.

I don’t know who these people are but I respect their get-out-of-Dodge attitude, loading up their lives on top of a Bosch Performance Line CX motor, massive 29 x 3-inch tires, and dual-800Wh batteries for 186 mile (300km) of escapism. Pricing starts at $6,499 / €6,799 / £5,900.

Corsair’s new 75-percent keyboard is the confusingly-named K65 Plus Wireless.

Following Razer and Asus, Corsair is releasing a keyboard in the popular compact laptop-style layout, complete with a volume knob on the top right that brings to mind enthusiast keyboards like the Keychron Q1 and GMMK Pro. Hot-swap switches, Bluetooth and 2.4GHz wireless, PBT dye-sub keycaps, and up to 266 hours of battery life round out the K65 Plus Wireless’ specs.

“Human leg found abandoned on a New York subway track.”

We don’t know whether the leg came from a man or woman, nor do we know how old the leg is. We do know, however, that “a human leg has been found abandoned on a New York subway track, police said, sparking an investigation into who it once belonged to and how they lost it.”

“Human leg found abandoned.” “Human leg found abandoned.” “Human leg found abandoned.” “Human leg found abandoned on a New York subway track.”

It’s-a me, Mac OS!

I’ve always said someone should run Mac OS on a Nintendo DS Lite, and thankfully, I’m not the only one who thinks so.

Uber Eats’ sidewalk delivery robots are coming to Japan.

The robots are expected to hit the sidewalks of Tokyo starting at the end of March, marking Uber’s first international expansion of its autonomous delivery service. The six-wheeled delivery robots are manufactured by Cartken, an Oakland-based AI company, and operations will be supervised by Mitsubishi Electric. Delivery robots are growing more popular, but they still require a team of human workers to make the system work.

“I can’t say that I had orange juice for breakfast without people asking what it means.”

That’s Briana White, who voices Aerith in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. “Everyone has a theory,” she told The New York Times.

Also, TIL Broadway actor Lea Salonga, singing voice of Jasmine and voice of Mulan, is a huge Final Fantasy fan.

Xbox isn’t ready to give up physical discs yet.

Last year, Microsoft mistakenly leaked plans for a disc-less Xbox Series X, but it appears physical media is still on the table. In an interview with Stephen Totilo’s Game File, Xbox boss Phil Spencer says the company’s “strategy does not hinge on people moving all-digital.” He adds that “getting rid of physical” is “not a strategic thing,” either:

We ship games physically and digitally, and we’re really just following what the customers are doing. And I think our job in running Xbox is to deliver on the things that a majority of the customers want. And right now, a majority of our customers are buying games digitally.

Who reviews the reviewers?

House Fresh, a blog focused on air quality, is just the kind of source you might want when you’re shopping for an air purifier — but it’s getting harder and harder to find them.

In a post titled, “How Google is killing independent sites like ours,” managing editor Gisele Navarro explains how bigger publishers like BuzzFeed, Better Homes & Gardens, and Rolling Stone outrank the independent site in Google Search:

These Digital Goliaths shouldn’t be able to use product recommendations as their personal piggy bank, simply flying through Google updates off the back of ‘the right signals,’ an old domain, or the echo of a reputable brand that is no longer.

As a team that has dedicated the last few years to testing and reviewing air purifiers, it’s disheartening to see our independent site be outranked by big-name publications that haven’t even bothered to check if a company is bankrupt before telling millions of readers to buy their products.

San Diego police would rather Vision Pro users cross streets ‘the old-fashioned way.’

Since the Vision Pro launched, we all knew intrepid first adopters would take the headset into the real world. However, the San Diego Police Department issued a safety reminder on Instagram that perhaps not every situation is suited for mixed reality.

“Keep those virtual experiences on the sidewalk, folks, and let’s cross streets the old-fashioned way — with our eyes wide open to the real world, unobstructed and without distractions!”

Nobody tell them about the dude wearing the Vision Pro in the Cybertruck.

Taylor Swift’s flight tracker has responded to the singer’s legal threats.

Jack Sweeney, a college student who uses public flight data to track jets belonging to celebrities like Swift and Elon Musk, has refuted the singer’s claims that his flight tracking accounts on social media cause her “direct and irreparable harm.”

In a letter to Swift’s legal team, Sweeney’s lawyer says “there is nothing unlawful” about the “use of publicly accessible information to track private jets,” adding that the threats “suggest a groundless effort to intimidate and censor” Sweeney.

Starfield gets FSR 3 and XeSS support.

After launching with just FSR 2 support, Starfield has been gradually getting the very latest upscaling tech. Now Bethesda is adding the latest FSR 3 version, alongside support for Intel’s XeSS upscaler. The latest update also includes some DLSS fixes, and a change to stop the data menu opening when you take a screenshot.

This video comparing Apple Vision Pro hand tracking to the Meta Quest 3 is mesmerizing.

Holonautic co-founder and developer Dennys Kuhnert says he is “both disappointed and impressed” by the Vision Pro’s performance and showed off this comparison of the two headsets with a real-time visualization tool.

As he wrote in another post, “The quality and accuracy is fantastic but the lag with passthrough hands feels currently higher than on Quest 3. Could be explained by AVP’s very low passthrough latency... ~11ms vs ~35ms for Q3.”

Microsoft is developing server tech to make AI chips run faster.

The Information reports Microsoft’s server network cards, which are currently in development, could replace the ones offered by Nvidia and save the company cash. Server cards move data quickly between servers. These new server cards should not only improve the performance of Nvidia chips, but Microsoft’s upcoming Maia AI chips as well.

Apple Music Reply will recap listening habits monthly.

Sharing music statistics online became a yearly tradition thanks to Spotify Wrapped. Now, Apple Music’s Replay feature is turning up the frequency with monthly breakdowns (after YouTube Music added seasonal updates in 2022) and will also note “milestones” for users, like the total number of minutes they spent listening to that one album. Users, of course, can share their music recaps online every month.

TechCrunch reports monthly Replay recaps will only be available to users “who listen to enough music.”

A few years after asking the internet what “fortnight” is, Lady Gaga is hinting that she’ll be making an appearance in the game through Fortnite Festival. That’s not too surprising — there are a few pop stars in Fortnite — but the real question is whether there will be a Lego Gaga.

Amazon’s Echo Hub is spotted in the wild.

Eagle-eyed smart home enthusiasts have tracked down the as-yet unavailable Alexa smart home control panel.

One Reddit user found the Echo Hub at Best Buy last week, but the clerk sent him away hubless. Another recently saw a big marketing display at Lowe’s complete with an empty cage where an Echo Hub should be.

Amazon said the Hub would ship at the end of 2023. It’s February 2024 and we’re still waiting. But perhaps not for much longer ...

The final trailer for Netflix’s live-action Avatar is a VFX bonanza.

We’re only a few days out from the premiere of Netflix’s live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender, and the series’ final trailer gives us our best look yet at what sort of VFX-heavy action set pieces the streamer has cooked up for the Gaang.

A stand for the Vision Pro.

Apple doesn’t sell a stand for the Vision Pro, so developer Christian Selig took it upon himself to create one — just like the unofficial YouTube app he made for the headset, too.

This stand allows the headset to hang vertically, making it take up a bit less space on your desk as opposed to some other storage options out there. Selig has uploaded all the design files onto MakerWorld, so you can 3D print the stand for yourself.

X restores Yulia Navalnaya’s account after briefly suspending it.

Yulia accused Vladimir Putin of killing her husband, opposition leader Alexei Navalny, and vowed to continue her husband’s fight against Putin’s “crazy regime.” Then, on Tuesday morning, her X account was abruptly suspended for a short time.

A message from the @Support account followed up saying, “Our platform’s defense mechanism against manipulation and spam mistakenly flagged @yulia_navalnaya as violating our rules. We unsuspended the account as soon as we became aware of the error, and will be updating the defense.”

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom hits Max next week.

You can start streaming the Aquaman sequel starting on Tuesday, February 27th.

As noted in my colleague Charles Pulliam-Moore’s review of the film, The Lost Kingdom has some stunning visuals, but it’s held back by a predictable storyline that makes it feel “like a product of the DCEU,” which has been plagued with issues over the past several years.

Your next Pokémon vacation is on the way.

Netflix has announced that new episodes of Pokémon Concierge are in production. Pokémon Concierge is a too-cute-by-half stop-motion show that lets ‘mons take a well-deserved break from all the brutal prizefighting.

Here’s hoping Mariya Takeuchi returns with another bop for season 2.
