It hasn't even been two weeks since the Samsung Stratosphere launched at Verizon, but it has already been rooted by enterprising hackers at RootzWiki. User knightcrusader posted detailed directions and was courteous enough to include the stock kernel as well in case any users need to restore their phones to original working order. That said, this root procedure seems more complicated than average, so proceed with caution. For those who don't know, the Stratosphere runs Gingerbread, is one of Verizon's less expensive LTE phones, and is the only Verizon LTE device that has a hardware keyboard. This root means that you may be able to someday add custom ROMs to that list.
