Minecraft Pocket Edition now widely available for Android devices

Killing cows, chopping down trees, and fighting off zombies — it's not real life, but it's close enough


Minecraft Pocket Edition — which was, up until now, an Xperia Play exclusive — can finally, really be enjoyed by the nerdy legions of Android device owners. The PC port has been available on the Sony Ericsson / PSP hybrid since August, but now most users running Android 2.1 or higher will be able to enjoy the bizarre wanderings that make up the Minecraft experience. The game will run you $6.99, and can be nabbed on your device, or conveniently (as always) via the Android Market portal. Why are you still reading this?
