Samsung halts Infuse 4G Android 2.3 update

Samsung has halted an Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for Infuse 4G devices due to issues.

Samsung kicked off its Android 2.3 update for the Infuse 4G recently, but the company has now revealed it is on hold due to some unspecified issues. Infuse 4G users were happily upgrading to Android 2.3 Gingerbread last week, but issues were discovered affecting "a small number of users" says Samsung. "We currently have put a hold on the update while we are developing a fix," reads a note on the company's support page for the Infuse 4G, indicating that updates might take some time to resume.

AT&T confirmed to Android Central that Samsung's update is on hold, and the pair are working together "to get this resolved as quickly as possible." The delay comes just a week after Infuse 4G Froyo users were offered the upgrade to Android 2.3 Gingerbread. With no sign of Android 4.0 on the horizon, and the slow upgrade to 2.3, some Infuse 4G owners will be left understandably frustrated at being stuck on version 2.2 for a little while longer.
