If you opted to get Sony's handsome Xperia S smartphone despite its lack of Android 4.0, you'll be glad to hear that you won't be stuck with Gingerbread for much longer. In a comment on Sony's official forums, a support representative has confirmed that the smartphone will get updated sometime between "late May" and "early June." Those dates line up well with the estimate on Sony's product page: Q2 2012. If you're wondering about Sony's other Xperia phones, the company has previously given us a fairly complete rundown of its Ice Cream Sandwich update plans for the rest of its devices. Now it's just a waiting game to see if you have the patience to wait for the official build to be released, or if you'll decide to test your rooting abilities and load up a leaked version of the update.
