Unless there's a future Nook app in the works, Barnes & Noble seems to be completely abandoning the BlackBerry platform. According to an email the retailer sent to Crackberry, Barnes & Noble is phasing out support for the BlackBerry BN eReader app. While iOS and Android have since gained Nook apps, Barnes & Noble has been maintaining, until now, the entirely separate BN eReader app for BlackBerry users. Starting October 5th, only previously purchased content will be available on your phone, and all future purchases will be halted. You'll still be able to sideload new purchases via USB. All downloads, including previous purchases, will be shut down on January 1st, 2012.
