Victoria Song

Senior Reviewer, Wearable Tech

Victoria Song reviews all things wearables and fitness tech for The Verge.

Before coming to The Verge, she'd been yammering on about this space—and other consumer tech—for Gizmodo and PC Magazine. When not nerding out over gadgets, she can be found on the couch binging the latest K-dramas.

The important stuff is inside.

Victoria Song has spent some time with the new Apple Watch Series 9 and the new Apple Watch Ultra 2, which look... a lot like the previous models. Even the bright new screen on the Ultra was hard to test indoors at Apple’s iPhone 15 launch event.

But inside these wearables, there’s a new S9 SiP (System in Package) and a new ultra wideband chip, and she was able to try out the new Double Tap control feature.

Cry again (in English) as Ash and Pikachu sign off.

Ash and Pikachu hung up their pokéballs in the Japanese version of the show earlier this year. But if you want to watch the sweet sendoff in English, the last batch of dubbed Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series episodes drops today on Netflix.

To mark the end of the era, there’s also a newly remixed version of the iconic theme song. Shut up, I’m not crying, you’re crying. They were the very best.
