I had high hopes for the 3Doodler Create, the $99 third-generation 3D-doodling pen from WobbleWorks. It's basically a hot glue gun that heats up colored plastic to let you make 3D-printed creations.

After about an hour of playing around with it, however, I was left with nothing but a vague headache and burnt fingers. My 3Doodler experience can be told in a three-act tweet play:

My colleague Ashley made a sweet pair of '50s cat-eye glasses in one go though, so maybe I'm just in the minority here! She claimed it was a very "zen" experience for her, while it caused me nothing but stress and heartbreak.
