HTC has released the Desire 830, its latest mid-range device and successor to the Desire 820. Much like the 820, the 830 is made of plastic and comes with a 5.5-inch display, but in a new, sleeker body. The Desire 830 runs Android 6.0 and features a 1080p display, a 1.5GHz octa-core Helio X10 processor, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage, which can be expanded with a microSD card.

Surprisingly, the 830 comes with Hi-Res front-facing stereo speakers and optical image stabilization for the 13MP camera — both firsts for HTC's mid-range line of smartphones. The Desire 830 will launch in Taiwan this Friday for $310. HTC hasn't said when the device will be available internationally.
