The unveiling of Samsung's next Gear smartwatch may be just around the corner. SamMobile is reporting that Samsung has plans to unveil the Gear S3 at this year's IFA, a major trade show in Berlin that begins September 2nd.
That'd make sense — the timing lines up with what Samsung did in 2015, unveiling the Gear S2 just days ahead of the conference. Last year, Samsung also teased the Gear S2's announcement after introducing a new Note in August; if it continues that pattern, it means we could see something as early as next week.
There are no details yet on what Samsung may have changed this time around, but SamMobile says the S3 will stick with its predecessor's much-praised rotating bezel design. Separately, Brian Conroy spotted a trademark filing for the name "Gear S3 Frontier," which suggests that Samsung may have multiple models in store. I guess that one's for the connected cowboys.
