The gold OnePlus 3 is a very pretty phone

It's gold, but not like, too gold

The OnePlus 3 has been one of the standout smartphones in a year full of great options. It has great build quality, fast performance, and a good camera in a package that costs little more than half of what you'd pay for a high-end Android phone. Last week, the company released a "Soft Gold" color option to complement the gray model that's been available since June. I've had one in hand for a couple days and I must say, it's one of the most attractive phones available right now.

Specwise, the gold OnePlus 3 is the same as its gray sibling: 5.5-inch, 1080p display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 6GB of RAM, and a 16-megapixel camera with optical stabilization. Aside from the gold finish, this model has a white front instead of black, which tends to make it look even more like an iPhone than the gray model.

But the gold on the OnePlus 3 is a very nice gold, not overly yellow or harsh like other phones. Next to a gold Nexus 6P, the OnePlus 3 is more pleasing to look at. And the plastic inserts for antennas and radios are color-matched to the metal finish, so they don't stand out as much as if they were white. Virtually everyone I've shown it to has remarked on how attractive of a device it is.

Otherwise, the Soft Gold OnePlus 3 is the same phone as before, just a little prettier. You can buy one from OnePlus 3 now, provided the company isn't restricting sales where you live.
