Samsung will launch the Galaxy S8 on March 29th in New York, officially unveiling the much-anticipated device for the first time. The company has sent out the teaser above, and an accompanying video below.

Obviously this is going to be a big moment for Samsung, which needs to come back from the worldwide debacle that was the Galaxy Note 7. The company lost a lot of money over the Note 7, but more importantly, it lost prestige and consumers' trust. The S8 needs to fix this. We've seen quite a few leaks of the handset so far, and the teaser above seems to confirm one of the major points of interest — that the device has particularly slim bezels and a display with rounded corners (just like the recently announced LG G6).

Other rumored specs and features for the S8 include a dock that turns the phone into a desktop device, a souped-up digital assistant named Bixby, and a bigger version of the handset called the S8 Plus. The regular S8 will supposedly have a 5.8-inch display, while the larger device will have a 6.2-inch display. A leaked spec sheet for the Plus also lists a Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB of RAM, and a 3,500 mAh battery (3,000 mAh on the smaller S8). You can bet, too, that Samsung will be talking up its new quality control measures for the S8.

None of this information is confirmed yet, so stay tuned, and we'll be bringing you all the news from New York on March 29th.
