We heard earlier this month that the next Apple Watch would be available in an LTE version. Now, it seems, Apple will make two models of the watch: one with LTE and one without. The company also likely won't iterate on design much with its form factor remaining largely similar to previous versions. The rumored news comes from Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities, who has reliably predicted Apple trends in the past. Kuo also says the new Apple Watch will ship in its usual two sizes — 38mm and 42mm.

Bloomberg first reported that the next Apple Watch would include LTE, and Kuo clarifies that it won't support 3G, meaning it might not work in other markets. Bloomberg did say, however, that AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and Sprint will all support the connected Apple Watch. The device will likely be announced along with new iPhones in the coming months.

In June, Apple announced that new watchfaces can update based on time of day or location would be launching with watchOS 4 this fall. It also said it'd be releasing a Siri watchface that could surface relevant content. These constant updates would benefit from a constant cell connection. Users could leave their phone at home and still use Siri, track their fitness routines, and respond to iMessages. Although LTE is technically unconfirmed, it would make sense for Apple to introduce it as part of the line’s refresh.
