Back in April, we were forced to acknowledge that the Indiegogo crowdfunded Keyboard Moto Mod was actually a real physical device. This year at CES 2018, Motorola has announced that you’ll actually be able to buy one soon for $99.

The Slider Keyboard Moto Mod, developed by a third-party company called Livermorium, was the winner of Motorola and Indiegogo’s Transform the Smartphone Challenge, after which it was put through Motorola’s Accelerator Program where the cellphone company worked on the device alongside Livermorium. And now, a finished version of the mod is set to be released sometime in the next month or two.

Party like it’s 2002

As Livermorium originally promised, the Slider Keyboard mod attaches to the back of your Moto Mod-compatible device, and brings back a full physical keyboard that slides out in landscape mode and tilts the screen up at a 60-degree angle. This way, you can pretend that it's 2002 and that Sidekicks are popular again.

Alongside the keyboard mod, Motorola also announced a new Lenovo Vital Moto Mod, which can measure heart rate, respiratory rate, Pulse Ox, core body temperature, and systolic and diastolic blood pressure from your finger. It costs $395, which means that it’s both the most expensive Moto Mod yet and that it costs more than a brand-new Moto Z2 Force (which T-Mobile currently sells for $375). The Lenovo Vital Moto Mod will be out in April.
