Huawei’s Nova 4, the phone that ditches the display notch for a circular “hole punch” cutout, will be released on December 17th, according to a new teaser image posted on Weibo (via MySmartPrice). The handset was first spotted during a livestream for the 18th birthday of Chinese singer Jackson Yee.

Huawei isn’t the only manufacturer working on a display with the new form factor. Alongside a tease for its long-awaited foldable smartphone, Samsung also announced a range of new display concepts, which included an “Infinity-O” display with a very similar pinhole design to the Nova 4. Next year’s Galaxy S10 range is rumored to be among the first Samsung-branded handsets to use the new display, but it seems that Huawei might beat Samsung to market.

The image shows a silhouette of the phone, along with its name and the expected December 17th launch date.
