Ikea is bringing two speakers to the US and UK to keep those anticipating the 2019 Sonos-Ikea partnership sated. These are Ikea’s first attempts at making speakers. The Bluetooth-connected units are called the Eneby, and there are two sizes: a smaller 8 x 8-inch model and a larger 12 x 12-inch version.

Customers can choose between black or gray polyester fabric on top of black or white plastic. The smaller speaker is intended to be more portable, as it comes with a handle, and you can choose to add a battery pack for up to 10 hours of battery life.

The speakers have an auto-off function to save energy when they’re not in use. You can also connect a 3.5mm auxiliary cable to them if you prefer listening with devices that don’t have Bluetooth. Both speakers let you pair up to eight Bluetooth devices. Ikea doesn’t list any audio specs on its site, but they appear to have a separate tweeter and woofer.

It’s also possible to mount the speakers to wall brackets or on a stand, but those are sold separately. The smaller Eneby speaker costs $49, while the larger one costs $89. Ikea is also selling the battery pack for $20 and the speaker stand is $10.

Like most Ikea furniture, some assembly is required, but not much in this case. (It’s mostly just attaching the handle to the smaller model.) Currently, you’re not able to buy the speakers online, but they are in stock in most stores.
