DJI has teamed up with Japanese chat app giant Line for what it describes as its “first characterized drone.” It’s a version of the entry-level, portable Spark that bears the visage of Brown, the stoic bear found in countless emoji and sticker sets.

As a chat app, Line is only really popular in Japan, Taiwan, and a couple of other Asian regions. But its original characters have proven to be a credible business in their own right: Line Friends merchandise is now sold in 108 countries, and the company opened a flagship store in New York’s Times Square last year.

“Similar to other things we carry in our bags, a drone is becoming a lifestyle accessory,” says DJI’s senior communication manager Monica Suk in a press release. “This special edition we are launching with Line Friends will take this concept even further and make storytelling and sharing exciting, and a part of our everyday life.”

DJI officially calls this collaboration the Line Friends (Brown) L Spark drone. It comes with the drone, a battery, three pairs of propellers, a remote control, two RC cables, and a USB charger for $399. DJI will sell it at its flagship stores and online in North America, China, Hong Kong, and Korea.
