Nvidia has announced a new, mid-range RTX 2060 GPU at CES 2019, rounding out the company’s existing RTX 2070, RTX 2080, and RTX 2080 Ti models with an entry-level option that will cost just $349. The new GPU was unveiled during the company’s CES 2019 keynote, where it was revealed that a Battlefield V ray-tracing demo wasn’t running on one of Nvidia’s existing cards, but on the new, budget option.

According to Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, the RTX 2060 will offer higher performance than a 1070 Ti, and 60 percent faster than the GTX 1060, ushering in “next-gen gaming for tens of millions of gamers.” The company claims the card can run Battlefield V with ray-tracing at 60 frames per second at high settings, 1440p resolution, assuming you’ve got a fast Core i9 processor.

Considering that the next cheapest RTX card, the RTX 2070, starts at $499, it’s a pretty big step down in price — but then again, the RTX series was more expensive than GTX to begin with. The RTX 2060 will be available January 15th for $349, with Nvidia sweetening the pot by including either a copy of Battlefield V or Anthem.

Unlike the RTX 2070, RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti, it’ll be available from all sorts of graphics card partners at launch instead of only in a special “Founders Edition,” but Nvidia will also have a Founders Edition version available. The GPU comes with 6GB of GDDR6 memory and 240 Tensor Cores.

Nvidia also announced that its GeForce RTX graphics are coming to laptops on January 29th, with lower-power Max-Q versions of the RTX 2080, RTX 2070 and RTX 2060 arriving in laptops from all the usual suspects.
