1993's Last Action Hero is an action movie about action movies, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger as a big-screen hero played by a fictional Arnold Schwarzenegger. It was a meta-step too far for some: the movie failed to succeed at the box office, before being consigned to history as one of Arnie's weakest films. The AV Club thinks that assessment is unfair.
