If you’ve recently bought a MacBook, a Pixelbook, or a slim Windows laptop, there’s a somewhat high chance that you’ll find it has a sole USB-C port, or two if you’re lucky. That’s simply not enough for most people.

Thankfully, USB-C hubs leverage the power of the port to greatly expand the capabilities of your machine. On the downside, not all hubs are created equal, with many of them being underpowered or lacking in useful expansions, like an SD card slot or an Ethernet port.

But on the plus side, we’ve worked to get readers of The Verge an exclusive low price for one of our favorite USB-C hubs: the HooToo USB-C hub, which we picked as the best low-cost hub just two months ago.

You’ll notice that two hubs are listed below, and that’s because HooToo now makes two versions that differ a bit from each other. Both can output to a monitor at 4K resolution, but only one of them has an SD card slot. And only one of them has Ethernet for a wired internet connection and 100W of power delivery throughput.

If you just want it all in a USB-C hub without having to compromise on port selection, we can’t blame you. But the added convenience of getting our top This is My Next pick will cost you far more than the runner-up hubs, which you’ll find below for much less.

The HooToo USB-C hub offers three USB-A 3.0 ports for your tech that hasn’t made the leap to USB-C. You’ll also get HDMI for connecting to a monitor, and a full-sized SD card reader, which is essential for photographers.

At 55W of power delivery, this hub may not charge your laptop as quickly as it would directly from its power adapter. Despite this, it’s great to have more ports in a pinch.

HooToo’s other USB-C hub boasts a similar look, though its I/O layout is a bit different: you’ll find an Ethernet connector in place of the former’s SD card slot. Additionally, this hub is a bit more expensive, but warrants the cost by allowing for up to 100W power delivery. It will more quickly charge your computer (and the gear connected to it).
