Memorial Day marks the unofficial start to summer in the US. In addition to using the long weekend of the national holiday for travel and taking some well-earned rest and relaxation, it usually kick-starts lots of outdoor activities — like backyard cookouts, road trips to the beach, and camping trips. It’s also another shopping holiday, with discounts on offer for all kinds of home goods and some great tech, gadgets, and gear.

There are plenty of deals on cool outdoorsy gear to take advantage even now, after the holiday — like a DJI Mini 2 drone kit. But there are also still great sales happening on indoor toys as well, like a range of Hisense TVs that are now available for up to $350 off. And let’s not forget travel essentials like Zendure’s heavy-duty power bank, which is on sale for $70 off with our exclusive promo code (see below). Because what good is a luxurious getaway vacation if you can’t keep your devices juiced up?

There are worthwhile sales still happening that appeal almost everyone, so check out all these notable ones hand-picked by the Verge Deals team.

Deal highlights

  • Nintendo’s excellent Switch Pro Controller is on sale on Amazon for $54.99, easily one of its best prices to date. The popular Nintendo Switch accessory is one of the more expensive models you can currently buy, but it’s also one that deftly balances features, comfort, and performance.
  • The Bose QuietComfort 45s are some of the most comfortable and capable noise-canceling headphones you can buy, with better battery life than their predecessors and a handy transparency mode. Normally $329, the headphones are on sale at Amazon and Best Buy right now for just $279, matching their best price to date. Read our review.
  • If you’re looking to get into next-gen gaming but aren’t willing to pay $500 for Microsoft’s Xbox Series X, the smaller Xbox Series S might fit the bill. The compact console is not as powerful as the Series X and only includes a 512GB SSD, but it offers a svelte design and robust backward compatibility. Normally $299.99, the Series S is on sale at Adorama right now for $249.99, matching its lowest price to date. Read our Xbox Series S review.
  • The 41mm, GPS-equipped Apple Watch Series 7 is back down to $329 at Amazon and Walmart, matching the lowest price we’ve seen for the $399 wearable. The latest version of Apple’s wearable features a larger display than the Series 6, better dust resistance, and improved health-tracking features. Read our review.

Apple deals

  • Apple’s AirPods Max are on sale on Amazon for $449.99 at checkout in select colors. This $100 discount is nearly the lowest price we’ve seen on the luxe noise-canceling headphones, which offer superb sound, foolproof controls, and a premium build. Read our review.
  • Best Buy and Amazon are offering the M1 MacBook Air for $100 off, dropping the base model with 256GB of storage and 8GB of RAM down to $899.99. We’re getting close to Apple’s Worldwide Developer’s Conference (WWDC), so it’s possible this exceptional machine may see a new update, but it’s still a great value. Read our review.
  • If you own an iPhone 13, you can get Apple’s MagSafe-compatible leather case in green and brown for $41.99 (about $17 off) at Amazon.

  • Walmart and Amazon are currently selling the 40mm, GPS-equipped Apple Watch SE starting at $249 instead of $279. That’s not its best price to date, but it’s a decent discount on a reliable smartwatch, one that features a built-in accelerometer but lacks the always-on display and blood oxygen monitoring found on newer models. Read our review.
  • Apple’s 2021 iPad Mini is down to just $409 ($90 off) in the 64GB, Wi-Fi-enabled configuration on Amazon. The current deal price is one of the lowest we’ve seen on the 8.3-inch tablet, which offers USB-C support, speedy performance, and a sleek, redesigned look. Read our review.
