AT&T U-verse has just announced the "first fully-integrated wireless receiver available from any TV provider," giving its customers the option of setting up their TV almost anywhere in the house — provided that it's in range of their router. After connecting a wireless access point to your home's primary residential gateway, you can begin watching TV on your set-top box, which receives U-verse content over Wi-Fi. Of course, this functionality is probably limited by wireless signal strength and internet bandwith, so the experience could vary from home to home and (even from room to room). Still, it's nice to have the option of watching football on your patio.
U-verse customers can purchase the wireless set-tops beginning October 31st for a one-time fee of $49 and a recurring $7 monthly fee. Check out the video below to see how it works.
