Though Verizon already has five LTE-capable smartphones in its lineup, none of them have a slide-out QWERTY keyboard — a key feature for some users. That gap has been closed this morning on the news that the rumored Samsung Stratosphere is official, featuring a 4-inch Super AMOLED display and a 1GHz single-core Hummingbird processor. In other words, the Stratosphere's specs hail back to the original Galaxy S line of 2010, not the newer Galaxy S II models with Super AMOLED Plus displays and dual-core Exynos processors — but for folks who rely on physical keyboards to get business taken care of, this is the only game in town for the moment. Look for it to launch this Thursday, October 13th, for $149.99 on a two-year contract after mail-in rebate.
