Nokia Lumia 800 owners should expect a new software update over the next two weeks. Notably, firmware version 1600.2479.7740.11451 updates firmware 1600.2475.7720.11414 / OS 7.10.7740.16 devices with "charging improvements" that could alleviate the battery issues seen by some owners of the company's first Windows Phone handset, though Nokia doesn't explicitly state that in the announcement. It also adds improvements to voicemail, audio quality, and a few more fixes, including a screen issue that occurs after calls are made in bright light. This would be the second software update to the Nokia Lumia 800 this month, and echoes what we previously heard from the company a few weeks ago, albeit, a bit ahead of schedule.
The update starts today with Nokia promising further updates in early 2012, although it stops short of offering any detail. Hopefully, the company will see fit to enable Mango's Wi-Fi Sharing feature sometime early in the new year.
