Nokia is returning to the Australian smartphone market with the introduction of the Lumia 800 Windows Phone in March. Optus, Telstra, and Vodafone will all stock the Lumia 800 in black, cyan, magenta, and white from March, alongside all major retailers. Nokia hasn't announced pricing for Australia, but we'd expect to see competitive deals based on the previous Lumia launches in other countries.
The biggest news for Australians is the introduction of a white Lumia 800, although it's not clear if the white is glossy (like the N9) or matte to match the rest of the Lumia 800 range. Nokia previously hinted that it is able to create yellow and white Lumia 800 colors, but the Finnish handset maker never indicated whether these would be made available. A number of slides leaked from a Microsoft meeting in France during December that displayed white and yellow Lumia 800 devices, the yellow variant looks like a good possibility right now given the availability of white in Australia. We have reached out to Nokia to confirm whether this edition is exclusive for Australia or not, and we'll update you accordingly.
