Facebook is testing Graph Search for mobile devices

During the Facebook Q4 earnings call earlier this week, Mark Zuckerberg hinted that Graph Search for mobile devices is in development, though he wouldn't go into specifics about when it would launch. "Pretty soon," he said, "I think you should expect us to roll out the mobile version of this." It turns out the company is already in the process of testing the functionality, and some users are already seeing the changes.

Mashable reporter Seth Fiegerman noticed the change earlier today and posted a screenshot on Twitter:

Judging from the image, users may soon be able to conduct the same searches for people, places, and timeframes on their phones as they're able to do on the desktop. A Facebook representative later confirmed with The Verge that the company has indeed started a small test of the navigation for mobile Graph Search. The move jibes well with Facebook's ambitions — the company already plans to release a whole suite of apps for smartphones in 2014. Graph Search, with its potential to become a powerful mobile search product, may well become a major part of that rollout.

I wonder what happened to the new Newsfeed update.

It’s coming! Will take Zuckerberg a few years to change the html template in Microsoft Frontpage for each of the profiles. /s

The worst bit is when you signed up for the beta and 30-40% of your friends who didn’t have it already.

I know right! Don’t even get me started…

We might as well missed something and signed up for postponing the update so we do get it… last.

yah, my news feed is still filled up with clutter

They axed it because it didn’t test well, apparently. I thought it was really nice and can’t have imagined myself liking it less than the current version…

They’re coming, the dragons are coming. And so is the pizza. Oh and the Newsfeed update is coming, it’s on the way and it’s going to be glorious!

Seriously? I don’t even have the desktop version that I signed up for a hundred years ago. What in the world is going on?

Change your language to English (US). I made this mistake and was wondering where it was for months.

A cloud service could have fragmentation too! Who knew!

Savior! Where have you been all my life?

Such a simple solution :) Thanks a lot… I have been waiting for this for months.

If only there was a way to get the new news feed………….

Even English (UK) works

Not for me. Been on English (UK) the entire time…

I have it, I just thought everyone got it.

I swore the cover image was a lightsaber fight.

I’ve never seen graph search in real life.

Me too. I understand they axed the new newsfeed (which is a shame. Such a big company and still such an ugly, badly coded site…), but what happened to Graph Search? It was announced even before the new newsfeed and i got in line on the first day. Still haven’t got it and don’t know anyone who has. I don’t get it – if it exist, they can just deploy for everyone with the click of a button, can’t they? It’s not that i’d actually use it, i’m just wondering about how they run their business…

Your language should be English (US) or English (UK)

They should first start to roll it out on all desktop users.

Does anyone’s graph search have post search yet? Mine keeps saying it doesn’t support searching posts “yet”. For me that would be the most useful function; I have no use for graphs search’s current functions.

Zuckerberg Is using dreamviewer to make each of those pages for everybody. certainly will take time.

I have to admit i’ve never actually used Graph Search for any of its features. It just never occurs to me use Facebook search in that way… and it seems Zuckerberg’s view of the product is about the same (based on the recent interview).
