Google's Inbox can finally show multiple email accounts at once

Google Inbox has a new “all inboxes” view on Android, allowing you to see all of your inboxes without tapping back and forth. This saves you two seconds of tapping each time you check your mail and keeps you from missing important messages arriving in your less-used mailboxes. While Gmail on Android has had this feature since 2015, it has yet to come to Gmail on iOS. Predictably, the unified view hasn’t come to Google Inbox on iOS either.

Unfortunately, the new feature doesn’t feel very organized. After all, the whole purpose of having different email addresses is to keep business and pleasure separated and the spam sent to the spam address. So far, there isn’t a way to filter or sort through the All Inboxes tab, but maybe disorganized clutter is what Google Inbox is going for with this new feature.

This doesn’t apply to the widget if anyone was wondering. Still waiting on that to update. It really shouldn’t be that hard.

I’m still waiting for the print function in Inbox.

I love the "finally" in this headline. How many people really have two Gmail accounts? Yes, I do mean outside of the nerd-o-sphere that comments on The Verge (myself included, of course).

You’d be surprised how many businesses use Gmail as their framework for email. In fact, take a look at the screenshot the author supplied. Looks like The Verge (Vox Media?) is one of those businesses. So regular people having two "Gmail" accounts might not be so irregular after all.

I even remember my high school had used Gmail for Business back in the day.

How many people really have two Gmail accounts?

Personal and school.

So, a lot I guess.

Fair enough. I have it for school—but Inbox is not enabled on that account. (Of course, I have no idea if most school accounts are like that.)

chances are, your school or work email is really on Gmail (Google Apps)……..

People have a personal email, school, work, and if you own a business, you probably have one just for that too.

I have two (personal, and one just for online shopping/register forum), used to have 3 (my school use gmail)

Well, yahoo had that for some years already.

I’ve been able to view multiple inboxes for, uh, three or four years now.

The WEBMAIL interface wasn’t designed to handle that (which is still kind of a pain).

Cool. Call me when I can send to a contact list from the mobile version. Can’t believe it is really that hard to do.

Now let’s hope they can somehow apply this to desktop too. I know it’s a lot more difficult, but surely they can find a way to accomplish this. By the way, a lot of people I know use more than one gmail account, actually some use several. I personally like to keep my personal life separate from my business (as stated in the article) and for business as well.
