Google just can’t catch a break with the Pixel 3. A Verizon promotional page suggests that the handset will start at a price of $799.99 for its 64GB model. If true, this would would make it $150 more expensive than the Pixel 2 was at launch.
The deal advertises that consumers can get a second 64GB Pixel 3 for free with the purchase of one of the phones, with the $800 upfront cost of the free device being refunded over the course of a 24 month contract. The deal doesn’t always display on the Verizon Wireless site (we had to refresh a few times and use incognito mode).
A second promotional page uncovered from the My Verizon app (via Reddit) suggests that you’ll also get one of Google’s new wireless charging Pixel Stands for free when pre-ordering through the carrier’s app.
There is some speculation, however, over whether the $800 price tag applies to the standard or XL version of the handset. The phone pictured in the advert appears to be a Pixel 3 XL based on its display notch (which would mean a $50 reduction in price), but the text describing the Buy One Get One deal clearly relates to the Pixel 3. And who knows, maybe it’s all just a placeholder before the deal goes live later today. Nevertheless, based on existing price leaks as well as the general trend towards more expensive handsets, we’re inclined to believe it’s describing the non-XL variant. Verizon’s BoGo deals typically apply to entry-level models.
The Pixel 3 is once again expected to be a Verizon exclusive in the US as it was for both the original Pixel and Pixel 2. Stay tuned for the phone’s official launch starting at 11AM ET later today.

this suggest nothing. It’s $800 regardless of what phone you buy. They have this buy one get another $800 off other than pixel too

I would agree, except it also says "$799.99 payment purchase per device req’d" which makes it seem like the Pixel 3 costs $800 straight up.

Still waiting on a pixel ultra. I can’t think of any other reason they’d want permission to use videos mocking their smartphone design. If it’s not real and they still mock it, Google will look like the dumbest company on the planet.

At this point, there are too many leaks of their devices to assume that a Pixel Ultra would go unnoticed. Not saying it is impossible, but unlikely
By Marv89 on 10.09.18 8:08am
They’re mocking the leaks though. I’m inclined to believe we haven’t seen the real phone. They even said "So you think you know."

Have you not seen that the Made By Google Livestream teaser used the footage?? It was Google acting like they were embarrassed and winking at the whole mess.
It’s used! There you go

Google has been very leaky. Both with Google+ users and with Pixel 3.
Wake me up when their half enthused execs finish going through the motions at their keynote today.
By kodos78 on 10.09.18 7:31am
Lol that must be so fun when nothing they’ll say today won’t have already been leaked

$799 in the US?
What would this mean for Europe… € 950? (assuming you can find one)
By Jean-Marc Potel on 10.09.18 7:52am
Meh, hopefully this is just Verizon’s pricing since the S9 on Verizon was $800 when the unlocked one from Samsung was $720

Pixel 3 799 Pixel 3 XL 999?
>Waiting for people to call it a waste of money for 1000 dollars like they did the iPhone X
By king loxx on 10.09.18 9:05am
For $1000, it’s a waste of money.

I don’t understand why Google insists on keeping the Pixels are Verizon exclusives in the US. It doesn’t seem to be doing them any good in terms of market share.
By Polycrastinator on 10.09.18 10:15am
Anyone can just buy it from Google and activate it on their carrier of choice.
By chewiebacca on 10.09.18 10:36am
Yes, but they won’t. People buy their phones from their carriers.
