Android users can now make custom GIFs with their cameras on Gboard. The feature, which we wrote about in January, has finally made its way to Android in beta, after being available on iOS. It looks like custom GIFs haven’t come to all Android phones. The feature is on the Google Pixel but apparently not the Samsung Galaxy S9 yet, as spotted by Android Police.

There are already a variety of ways to make custom GIFs, but Gboard places the feature pretty prominently on the keyboard, so it’s more likely to be noticed and used. Through the feature, you could potentially record wacky selfie GIFs or group shots.

To try the new feature, go into the GIF interface in the keyboard and select the “My GIFs” tab. Then, give Gboard permission to access your camera and then record your GIF, which can be up to three seconds long and basically looks just like Instagram’s Boomerang mode. You can also choose to add filters like placing question marks all over the GIF or calling it a “Breaking Report.” GIFs can be saved in the tab for later use.

Additionally, there are now more stickers available in Gboard, including blob emoji. We’ve reached out to Google for a full list of Android devices that custom GIFs are available on. Since the feature is still in beta, not everyone will see it until it rolls out in the main release.
