The PC market is largely focused on laptops these days, so it’s unusual to see a powerful new all-in-one PC. HP is announcing exactly that at CES 2020 this week, with its new Envy 32 AiO. It ships with a 31.5-inch 4K display capable of HDR600 (600 nits) and a Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 (Max-Q) inside. It’s the first all-in-one PC to be certified as part of Nvidia’s RTX Studio program, meaning it can use the RTX cores in supported applications for accelerated ray tracing and AI workloads.
HP is also including 65W Intel 9th Gen Core i7 processors, up to 32GB of RAM, and up to 1TB of SSD storage. HP claims the Envy 32 AiO has the “world’s widest” 4K display in an all-in-one, thanks to a 92.8 percent screen-to-body ratio and edge-to-edge glass. It’s also the “world’s first PC” with a HDR600 display, and it also has a 6000:1 contrast ratio.
Aside from the raw power, HP has also included some useful features if you’re an audio or wireless charging fan. In yet another “world’s first” claim, HP says the Envy 32 AiO is the “world’s loudest all-in-one,” thanks to built-in front-firing tweeters and a subwoofer tuned by Bang & Olufsen. You can even stream music to these PC speakers when the machine is powered off. HP has also turned the base of this all-in-one PC into a Qi wireless charging pad that also works when the PC is off.
HP’s Envy 32 AiO is available today starting at $1,599.99 from HP’s website.

The "World’s first HDR600 PC" is particularly confusing, but seems decent. Troubling it doesn’t have its HDR format support clear.
Also the Webcam sucks for a 2020 machine being only 5mp.

5MP at 16:9 gives you a theoretical max resolution of "only" 2981 × 1677

It’s funny because clearly 5 MP is overkill, you definitely don’t need 8 MP, or 12 MP if it’s streaming at 2 MP, yet in the real world it seems there aren’t many "low" MP cameras that are good. For ex. In theory a 2 MP camera could be excellent, but these days they’re invariably bad for whatever reason.
Although perhaps even more important than video is microphone quality, which is often neglected entirely as you can’t brag about it on a spec sheet.

Are you taking this thing on vacation for photos or what? I don’t need my colleagues to see every last pimple I have.
That’s still full HD resolution

Pricing on these seems fairly decent for such an all-in-one package. The $1600 entry point gets you an i5 9400, 16GB of RAM, a GTX 1060, 1TB HDD + 256GB SSD and a 31.5" 4K screen (with HDR600).
Obviously you can get more by building a tower yourself and buying a separate monitor but that will always be the case for these types of products.

Honestly the only all-in-one I know of with good value is the 5k iMac since 5k displays are so much $$$. When it came out it was cheaper than a standalone 5k monitor.
That said, this machine largely matches the specs and was a month ago: https://slickdeals.net/f/13663325-hp-pavilion-gaming-desktop-gtx-1660-ti-i5-9400f-8gb-256gb-ssd-499-fs-or-much-lower-in-store
Better GPU, less ram (but Ram is dirt cheap and extremely quick to replace if needed). Throw in a 4k monitor for 300 and you have a pretty comparable setup for half the price. Kind of nuts how much the all-in-one premium is here, unless it goes on deep discount, especially since you’re not having to build anything.
Biggest issue with this computer is it has a gaming graphics card, but who buys a computer for 1600 with a 1060?

I would say you have the better machine here than the iMac.
Isn´t this screen better than the iMac 5K screen on image quality..?
(iMac is 5K vs 4K, 27" vs 32")
This HP beat any iMac on GFX, that is not really debatable.

I always like the idea of an all in one, but then I remember that I work with a dual monitor setup and the dream is lost. It would be great if one of the PC manufactures made a clean dual monitor PC setup that is as simple and seamless as an AIO. I would even settle for an AIO ultrawide that had optional screensplit softwar for dual monitor workflows.

Check the specs, I have an HP AiO and it has an HDMI-out port (also an HDMI-in so I use it with my work laptop as a monitor).
Or is the issue that then the screens don’t have the same shape?

Some interesting ideas. I think it’s attractive and sensible for a dorm or small office.

Website shows cheapest version at 1899.99. Have they raised the price already or am I missing something.
