A new study of 319 primary schools in Peru over a course of 15 months from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) has found that there is no evidence that the OLPC program has had an effect on math and language test scores. Furthermore, the results show that the laptops didn't make students spend more time devoted to schoolwork or reading.

Marvell and Stanford University revealed the SMILE Plug today, which creates a 60-person Wi-Fi cloud for classroom use. It lets teacher's easily monitor student's progress, and it's designed for developing nations and for use with the One Laptop per Child (OLPC) XO 3.0 tablet that was announced yesterday.
