Sigma SD1 cut to a third of its original $9,700 price due to manufacturing efficiencies
The SD1's price has been dropped by over 50 percent to $3,300 due to "new efficiencies in the camera's production." The camera has also been renamed the SD1 Merrill in honor of the co-creator of the Foveon X3 sensor, Richard Merrill.
