Barnes & Noble Nook 1st Edition

Barnes & Noble joined the e-reader race with the release of the Nook in 2009. It offered a similar 6-inch E Ink display to what was found on its chief competitor, Amazon's Kindle, while also adding in a touch-based LCD at the bottom of the device for navigation purposes. The Nook operated on a heavily modified version of Android and featured built-in Wi-Fi and free 3G connectivity via AT&T.
