  The One is a phone with some very bold ideas, which are sometimes wonderfully executed and sometimes a bit half-baked. The design of the phone is amazing. Flawless? No. My model's speaker grilles were not aligned properly, resulting in a small but sharp metal edge on the bottom and top of the phone. This shouldn't happen on a company flagship. The display, which is excellent in all other respects, is muddled slightly by diagonal lines that can be seen clearly close up on a white background with the naked eye. I'm unsure what these are, but I wish they would go away. Call quality is no worse than any other phone, though I think it's high time VoLTE arrives and saves us all from the garbled mess that is today's voice communication standard. The Snapdragon handles anything you throw at it with aplomb, including HTC Sense, which in itself is much more tasteful and useful, including another bold idea in Blinkfeed, which I quite like. (However, its method of operation needs to be more transparent. It inexplicably only shows calendar events once per day, and doesn't offer many settings to change its behavior). Battery life is around 4.5hours of full screen time, which translates to about 12 hours of 'use' for me, with all the bells and whistles enabled. (Why buy a smartphone if everything is disabled to save battery?) The final point is the camera. HTC's proprietary software is way too eager to jump on a photo, coloring blue things purple and causing huge amounts of noise (that might be cleared up with a few more megapixels to work with). Zoes are extremely space-consuming. I don't recommend them. Also, the One's autofocus was utterly bamboozled by a Christmas tree, showing only a blurred mess of lights. A very artsy shot, I suppose, but still...
  Even with its few idiosyncrasies, I love the One and will be sticking with HTC for the foreseeable future.

  Pros:
  -The phone is always responsive: no lag, even with many apps running at the same time.
  -Beautiful, clear and bright hi-def screen.
  -The build quality is perfect. Even better then Iphone. The metal body is solid and light, and fits perfectly in the hand.
  -Incredibly powerful and clear sound from the front speakers
  -Good Battery life (It lasts a day and a half, with a normale use of internet and apps)
  -HTC sense is by far the best looking android interface on the market

  Cons:
  The camera is really good, but the lower number of megapixel might not convince everybody.
  No SD card, but 32GB is a lot of space, and there are also 25GB of dropbox cloud space.

  I have this phone now and this is the best phone i have ever owned. Everything is good on this phone. Until now I have had iphones and I decided to give a shot for Android. I have to say, android is far better og more free than iOS. the Phone itselves is fast and beautiful with the Aluminium body.

  I'm gonna be upfront and honest here. I was expecting more from the HTC One. The UI is perhaps not as smooth as I would like, the camera is sub-par and the battery life is just ok. However that's not to say I don't like it, on the contrary in fact, I found it to be one of the best devices I have ever used with a stunning build and display and snappy performance. Sense UI is very in your face though and I would recommend putting a launcher or custom ROM on top.

  PROS:
  1. Speakers... the best in the industry for cellphones.
  2. Display... no complaints... except when under the sun, of course.
  3. Built... a work of art.
  4. Software... very stable so far.
  5. Performance... screaming fast.

  CONS:
  1. Size... gosh dammit... could've at least made it smaller! My hands hurt!
  2. Battery... I don't mind it being heavier... power is more important than weight!
  3. Buttons... power button could have been placed on the right side since the phone is too big!
  4. Expansion... shouldn't have followed Apple on this one... should've followed Samsung! Expandable memory and battery! I swear... that could've made sales much better!

  CONCLUSIONS:
  After all is said and done, this is a great, great phone! If all those CONS were only addressed, and they were all POSSIBLE to address in the first place, then this could've been the PERFECT phone. Sigh.

  Awesome device, bold choices by HTC and I appreciate the effort Im particularly in love with the body of the device - build and design. After falling in love with my mac book pro a year ago the cool to the touch just really feels as serious as these devices are to my livelihood. I always root and do custom rom install but cant find a reason to root this one, seriously, Im just satisfied with it in all facets. Glad I bought it.

  The HTC One is a gorgeous phone that you should consider buying.

  Initially it had performance issues, but these were fixed with the Android 4.2 update. The overheating and the battery are big issues though, and the build quality can be lacking.

  My HTC One came with a crooked screen and a defective screen-motherboard connector. Only the latter has been fixed. The Beats Audio logo on the back comes off really easily. Half of it is already gone, and I've only had the phone for two months.

  All in all, it's a great phone, even with all these shortcomings.

  It's a good phone. The software and battery life could be better though. It is a very beautiful phone. Best hardware out right now. The display is really nice. I like how the icons look. The camera is really good outside because it lets a lot of light in and the pictures look amazing. The pictures are okay indoors. I have sprint and call quality is not so good.

  I did it! I’ve converted to the HTC One. Things I like:
  The screen – it cannot be overstated enough, the screen on the HTC One is gorgeous; it is large, crisp and bright. I never thought you’d be able to tell the difference between the iPhone’s Retina display and a 1080p display (as on the HTC One), but you can – especially when reading black text on a white background.
  Android – Quite an obvious thing to say, but Android is actually very good. Since the beginning of smartphone time I always imagined Android to be a stutter induced mess, but it’s not! Android is actually super speedy and it feels as if it’s been designed to suit every user. Don’t like the default apps? Change them! Don’t like the way it looks? Change the launcher! I’ve always known these were pro-points of Android, but I never expected them to be so useful! For instance, I wanted to use Google Chrome as my default web browser and Whatsapp as my default messenger, so I changed the default in Settings for both; as Apple users will know – you have to lump and like default apps regardless of your preferred internet ecosystem.
  Notification LED – You gorgeous little green thing! Small and yet noticeable, I didn’t realise I missed this feature from my Blackberry days until I had it back!
  Notifications – Obviously this comes under the Android header but I feel that it deserves its own special mention; I blimmin’ love the way notifications appear at the top of the status bar (and I really thought I wouldn’t). I love how whatever you’re doing isn’t interrupted by a pop-up or drop-down; it just appears gracefully up top. Perfect.
  Things I dislike:
  On/Off/Sleep Button – Like the smaller iPhone, the button to put the One to sleep is located up top, but due to the phone’s massive size, I always manage to turn the volume up and down when I try to turn the phone off/put it to sleep.
  The Photo Gallery – It looks ugly and is hard to navigate, especially compared to iOS 7’s gorgeous photo gallery. I also had trouble batch uploading photos to Facebook because of the Zoe format.
  Ultrapixel Camera – Let me be blunt, the HTC One’s camera isn’t terrible – it’s just not the best. Colours can seem washed out in the wrong light and hitting the Auto Enhance button just turns the saturation up. Saying that however I managed to get some decent shots when out and about at the weekend, I particularly like the photo size. (Sample photos I took above)
  Conclusion:
  Ultimately I have no regrets upgrading to the HTC One, and have yet to yearn for my iPhone. Fear not iPhone users, the grass is greener over the other side!

  Gorgeous phone, gorgeous hardware. This phone actually made me switch to Android from an iPhone 5. And the switch was very hard since I relied on Apple Ecosystem very heavily. I sill miss some features of iOS and OS X ecosystem. If this phone had 8mp ultrapixel camera, it would be so awesome!!!
