TiVo is tweaking its product lineup this Sunday, replacing the current TiVo Premiere 320GB model with a 500GB hard drive, which the company says will be good for up to 75 hours of HD content. Along with that refresh is coming a new pricing scheme. The price for the TiVo Premiere will be $149.99, which is $50 more expensive. However, the monthly service fee will drop to $14.99 with a one-year contract.
Ten days ago TiVo teased an update for its TiVo Premiere DVRs but only actually distributed it to a small group of people. Now the company is letting all owners receive the improved software, rolling it out between now and the end of the month.
TiVo is demonstrating a very interesting external transcoder box that lets you stream anything on your DVR to the TiVo iPad app when you're on your home network, and download shows to watch offline or away from home.
TiVo has updated it's Tivo Premiere software to include multi-room streaming, a full HD channel guide, and more. The update isn't available to all yet, but will be in a few weeks.
