X7 | Nokia
The first batch of Office apps were released over a month ago, but today the rest of the pack has been released, bringing Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint mobile to Nokia's Symbian Belle devices. For now only Nokia 701, 700, 603, E7, X7, C7, Oro, and C6-01 owners can get the software, but the N8, E6, and Nokia 500 will get the software eventually, as will the 808 PureView when it launches.
Nokia has announced that its first installment of Microsoft Apps are now available on Belle devices. The package includes the powerful note-taking tool OneNote, the business communication and IM client Lync, a document viewer and manager called Document Connection, and PowerPoint Broadcast, which lets you view presentations on your phone. The apps are available now as part of a system update on most Nokia Belle phones.
Nokia's support for Symbian software nowadays is nothing more than a vestigial courtesy to customers unfortunate enough to have bought handsets running it, but now the company's even going so far as to omit the Symbian name from the title of its next update. What was formerly known as Symbian Belle is now Nokia Belle.
Nokia has confirmed that it'll send the latest (and final?) version of the Symbian, called Belle, to all Anna devices in "early 2012."
