We've been waiting for a release date since CES, but it's finally official — the Galaxy Nexus is coming to Sprint on April 22nd for $199.99 when you sign a new two-year contract. As an incentive to get new buyers using Google's mobile payment system, the Sprint Galaxy Nexus will come with $50 in cold, hard cash into your Google Wallet, provided you activate by May 22nd. Google already offers $10 instant credit when people activate Google Wallet, so new buyers will get an additional $40 over the standard offer — who can argue with free money?

This release date has been rumored for several weeks now; Sprint's also launching the LTE-capable LG Viper on the same day, so it's not terribly surprising to see the Galaxy Nexus come out...

All the pieces appear to be lining up for a rapid release of the Galaxy Nexus on Sprint. Two days ago, we obtained a Sam's Club document suggesting the smartphone would arrive on Sunday, April 22nd, and today, Engadget has an Galaxy Nexus training manual for Sprint employees that they allegedly have to finish absorbing within the next two weeks. Moreover, one page in particular from that manual hints at a launch sooner than later, and you can see it below: the Galaxy Nexus LTE will apparently arrive with its LTE connectivity turned off by default.

Perhaps that's standard practice at cellular carriers when a network is still in its infancy, but it seems to suggest that Sprint could sell the phone before its LTE network launches at all,...

We know quite a bit about Sprint's upcoming Galaxy Nexus LTE except the most interesting part — when it'll be available and how much it'll cost. Eager Sprint fans may not have much longer to wait, however, as an anonymous Walmart employee has sent us an internal document stating that the device will launch on April 22nd at Sam's Club — a Walmart-run discount club store. The device is to be identical to Verizon's LTE variant of the device, except it has Google Wallet support and it's still rumored to run at 1.5GHz — a 300MHz bump over its GSM and Verizon LTE cousins.

Other than the Galaxy Nexus, the document reveals a yet-to-be-announced Intensity III for Verizon, sure to be a followup to the Samsung Intensity II dumbphone. The internal...

If you've been waiting with bated breath to deck out your Galaxy Nexus with some official accessories, we've got some good news and some bad news. The good news is that Samsung is taking pre-orders for its horizontal dock, dubbed the Pogo Desktop Dock, in the US. The bad news is that it's going to cost you $89.99. The dock allows you to charge your phone in landscape orientation via three spring-loaded pogo pins, which Samsung claims reduces the strain from plugging in a charger. Other than that dubious guarantee, your 90 bucks gets you a 3.5mm stereo audio output, some black plastic, and nothing else. The dock is currently on backorder, so if you want to meditate on your purchase a bit, consider that Samsung's HDMI dock, which is...

The carrier has made similar moves before, introducing a white variant of the Droid RAZR last December, and then nixing the 16GB SD card that phone was originally bundled with — while lopping $100 off the asking price.
We've received news this morning from Samsung that a white variant of the Galaxy Nexus will launch in Britain on February 13th. UK retailer Handtec had previously announced that it would stock the handset at some point this week, but a wider release is now imminent. The GSM Galaxy Nexus was briefly our highest-scoring Android handset ever (it was bested by its 4G LTE cousin), and Samsung hopes that a new color choice will persuade those who haven't already adopted its flagship handset to part with their cash. if you've been waiting for a color that more adequately matches your satchel, the white Galaxy Nexus should be available from a range of stores across the UK from early next week.

Google Wallet, a major push for Google on its Sprint-backed Nexus S 4G, has been a non-starter on the newer Galaxy Nexus — there have been ways around the block, but there hasn't been anything officially supported. That just changed, though, because it turns out that unlocked GSM Galaxy Nexuses with AT&T SIMs installed are being offered access to the app (and so is the AT&T version of the Nexus S, we're hearing). It's not clear exactly when this changed, but it seems to have happened this week — a good sign that the carrier is going to be open to supporting Google Wallet going forward despite its investment in the competing ISIS initiative. The Verizon model still doesn't have access, unfortunately, but it's possible that pressure from...

The white Galaxy Nexus looks set to be with us by this time next month, but we don't have to wait that long for the first real photos of the device. It's been photographed over on HDBlog.it, showing off an alabaster rear and sides. The bezel around the display up front remains black, unfortunately, so it's not white all over, though we doubt that will stop Android fans from making it their favorite new object of desire.
