Amazon yesterday surprised everyone by announcing Echo, a cylindrical speaker that can respond to your voice commands and sometimes provide information. The accompanying video showed a happy, hapless, and oftentimes helpless family trying to figure out some of the more commonplace parts of life. We seriously have no idea how they got by before Echo.
