They need more than speakers to get back into the Home market.
First they need to offer a true home control & media server which is secured. This server would hold all of your home devices control and Siri cache.
Besides bring back the HomePod gen2. The TouchBar tech should be wrapped around it like a theater marquee allowing you to see the music title or what ever you wanted for information.
It’s important to create a family of devices like the others have. Apple has the advantage! But they are letting it rot, it maybe too late now.
All of the Home devices should be PoE based with a small battery. Tethered to the home server and can either use a small two port power injector or offer a larger one with four ports so a room of devices could be served.
Take the old mini and make a desk unit with speakers fully powered via PoE connection.
The Mini likewise should be using PoE allowing Ethernet/WiFi/BT connections.
I would love to see a wall mountable Siri unit as well.
While I use WiFi not everyone wants wireless as the means of control of their home.
