Add to that the under screen fingerprint sensor, which is WAY better than having it on the back of the phone, and Google got my money.
That’s pretty subjective because I find that the fingerprint sensor was way better on the back of the phone. lol

Sources are a little scattered, but there have been recent, more serious murmurs. This is more vague in direction, but it’s a step.

Well, it has everything to do with where the mandate is coming from.. Sony isn’t actually in a position to make demands. Government bodies will ultimately be making these decisions, but Microsoft may sweeten the pot to appear helpful to Sony if it helps grease the wheel.
MLB saw how much money was being left on the table with their premiere license being tied to one platform, and they negotiated their way into a multiplatform release despite it being a First Party Sony title.
So, where this conversation started was with which concessions one platform would concede to the other, and MLB had nothing to do with either of those, instead acting out of selfish, financial reasons as the holder of their own license. Frankly, neither Bungie and Destiny nor MLB The Show are relevant in this argument considering how those deals manifested. lol

So.. these are completely different kinds of conversations about licensing agreements, and they have basically nothing to do with one another.

MLB kinda forced Sony’s hand on that one. lol

For years the gamer mentality has been ’I’ll buy a PlayStation for Sony exclusives, and a PC for everything else.’ I get consolidation is problematic, but the exclusivity argument is bunk. Microsoft doesn’t even have their own exclusive platform on PCs with games releasing simultaneously on Steam and Game Pass.
If Sony thinks this is the reason the deal will get shot down, I think they’ll be surprised by the response.

My comment RE the shells, I sticker bombed mine and it effectively hides the size of the thing…my point being colours matter and they help in hiding a console. About effectively placing it somewhere, I find it far easier to hide the PS5 then the massive shoebox that is the series x!
The Series X, on the whole, is smaller than the PS5, and it looks like a generic piece of AV equipment. You can set a Series X on the floor next to your TV, and people are just as liable to think it’s a mini sub-woofer as they are a game console.
It’s all design language, sure, but I would argue the PS5 is actually incongruous with the rest of Sony design. That may well be intentional, but it’s not with intent to make it easier to place in your living room. lol
