In the US alone, 8 million people rely on satellite internet for their internet connection.

You realize a lot of places are yet to be connected to broadband, and have amost no access to internet connectivity?
It may not be the case where you are in Denmark, but I’m sure there’s a lot of people up north with little to no options. Same for people in France, and people in the UK. Large economies still have countrysides, or underserved areas.
And when you’re in that situation, the only option was Viasat, for 150$ a month, 0.5-2mb per sec, with a cap of 5 or 10gb.
