Yeah but I don’t think that has to do with the software. That’s more on business and product owners making decisions that reflect poorly on the end user. Lots of crappy product people out there.

Don’t worry about the software. Software is the one thing Google is great at. What they usually suck in is hardware and marketing.

It should be ok. For the most part they’ve already been doing automatic color correction with Google Photos for years – they’re just bringing the power of their servers onto an onboard chip. You can turn it off and just go with the original picture because these color corrections tend to be subjective anyway.
The hardest part of this whole work is probably coming up with the name "Camera inclusivity work with real tone" without sounding offensive.
