This is a really common narrative with Siri. At the risk of sounding like an Apple fanboy, I’m not sure I agree, at least completely.
Siri does some things really well, like timers, reminders, and navigation. You’re right it hasn’t advanced a lot in ten years, but can someone give a concrete example of what you expect it to do? Like yeah, I get the "text Tom, Harry, and Greg" thing doesn’t work, but if I have multiple Toms or Harrys in my phone, I don’t expect it to pick the right one. To be clear, this is the kind of thing a human assistant would get right, so I understand the frustration, but I guess I think we should have been more skeptical of Apple upfront, rather than disappointed afterwards.
I think "Hey Siri" and "Remind me about this" (which adds a link to a note or webpage or message to a reminder) are fantastic feature advancements, though. I don’t use Siri a ton but it works pretty well for what I want it to do. I am glad I can ask Siri to play a song on Spotify now; I wish third-party apps weren’t second-class citizens on iOS, but given that they are, I’m not surprised Siri doesn’t handle them better.
One last mini-rant: the most annoying thing about voice assistants, and it’s not unique to Siri, are when you ask it to do something, and it works, but later, when you ask it the exact same thing, it doesn’t. (In Siri’s case, it hurts more when you can see from the dictation that it heard you correctly, though, but still doesn’t do what you want.) Can you imagine if a GUI or CLI worked that way?

The last thing in the world I’d complain about on my current MacBook Pro is pixel density, but a "taller" aspect ratio is very welcome.

Sometimes you’re turning in your laptop but you’re not getting leaving the company—for example, if you’re getting a new one issued. I have no idea if Apple actually checks if you wiped it, but it’s hardly worth risking your job over.
