I’m confused as to why the entire media reported in unison that Haugen was a "whistle blower" that revealed "shocking" details about Facebook putting people before profits – as if we didn’t know this. And as if American common law didn’t compel corporations to put shareholder value above the lives of employees and consumers…
Maybe the media should be reporting about that. Reporting on how ridiculously weak American consumer protections and labor law are instead of contributing to the collective delusion that only a few companies, like Facebook, at uniquely evil.
