This seems like a very odd thing to get hung up on… you are perfectly fine with Nixon turning down a pardon but you draw the line at indoor moon gravity?

They are putting out some very good content.
Even now when the active shows are the Essex Serpant and Tehran which are not my favorites (Tehran is excellent, but bilingual so there are going to be some subtitles, which is more work than I want to do by the time I get to TV time), they are still pretty entertaining shows.
The good stuff is among the best TV I can find. The only thing better is the occasional Top Tier HBO show. It’s easily the best value in streaming in my opinion.

I have limited experience with the Roku Ultra (I’ve used the lower end models quite often). In my experience the Apple TV is just better from a UI standpoint. Combine that with Airplay 2 (I use 2 home pods as my bedroom speakers so this is table stakes for me, but also nice for anyone who has a mac at home), and the finally fixed and excellent apple TV remote and it’s well worth the extra $50 for me. I also take one with me traveling and it’s hard to imagine a better setup for that use case.

This seems like a nice add. I’ll be curious to know how it handles people with multiple streaming services. For example, if I say "Hey Sonos Play Rick Astley " will it play from Apple Music, or Deezer?
The privacy bit is pretty compelling, but I wish it would do some of the basics like timers & weather so I could just turn off Alexa.
The more of these things I have in my house and the more capable they become at controlling things in other rooms makes me think child voice rejection will be the killer feature of all future voice assistants.

Wish List:
- Set Timers (Multiple Timers). Let me name them. (And for the love, don’t tell me the name of the device I’m setting it on… "Setting Timer on Otro’s Sonos’s Play 1 Gen 2" ugh!!!
- Tell me the Weather
- Play Music on any Sonos Connected Service
- Homekit \ Google Home integration
- Don’t sell me anything at all or offer me additional services.
That’s it… that’s my ideal voice assistant.

This is good advice.

Depends on the trip. If you can stay under 300 miles per day and charge overnight any level 2 charger will do. You wouldn’t want to try something like Texas – > California without a robust set of super chargers.
The nice thing about electricity is that nearly all the infrastructure is already built. You can do it far faster and cheaper then if you were trying to build out gasoline from scratch.

I would think that they will eventually put out a windows version when it gets out of beta, but I’m guessing the universe of Windows Only people who own this display is pretty limited. Shame they didn’t stick some kind of wifi in there otherwise you could just boot iOS and update it directly.

Capacitive buttons in a touch pad that launch the camera… what could possibly go wrong?

I will say in the last week I’ve seen 2 Mustang Mach-E’s, my first Rivian Truck, and my first Porsche Taycan in the wild. Could just be dumb luck but it looks like other automakers are starting to pull things together and ramp production.

Can’t find the exact quote I’m thinking of but it has definitely been on his mind.

I know certain folks just want people to stop driving large cars but the market is unambiguous here. Electrify all the guzzler’s first and then we can focus on your neighbor’s Prius.

Elon has previously said (or at least tweeted) that he should have started with a Van.

I believe you meant to say Stealing Ford’s "Lightning"

They are better voice assistants, but definitely not better speakers. Home Pods were really good when they were available (Home Pod Mini is OK but not great).
I prefer Siri to Alexa or Google for privacy reasons, but that might just be a perception vs. a practical distinction. I lack the expertise to say its definitively more secure. At the end of the day I just want it to 1. Control the TV. 2. Talk to my light bulbs, & 3. Set timers for cooking. Siri does all of that flawlessly.

I’ve got a pair of them in my bedroom and they sound far better than the Sonos setup in the living room (admittedly a much more challenging room but its got a playable, two ones, and a sub to work with.
They both sound pretty good, but dialogue is much crisper on the Home Pods. I’m sad Apple doesn’t make them any longer.

Really? It seems uglier on the inside than the outside to me.
The inside is far to cluttered to be appealing for my taste.
