Tim? Is that you?

I guess it depends how nuanced you want to get. I definitely know people who love their Teslas but hate bsically every aspect of Telsa the company (from the sales dept to the repair people, etc).

But liking the product is again different to liking the company. I don’t think all that many people are angry at the cars themselves.

You literally said he builds great companies and then shifted your own goalposts to being about disruption when challenged. To quote some random person, probably: "your argument is fuckin’ stupid.".
And yes, most companies do have problems, that’s some great whataboutism but it doesn’t change the fact that this man’s companies are plagued by very serious issues.
Disruptive? Absolutely. Valuable? Of course. Great? Maybe, but only if you ignore everything about them that’s not great.

Why? That’s not measuring greatness. That’s measuring disruption. If you had said he excels at building disruptive companies I’d be far more likely to agree with you, but you specifically said great companies.
There’s more you greatness that you seem to be ignoring.

Great for when you have money but hate taste and/or common sense.

What he really excels at is building a great company.
That’s pretty questionable. He certainly knows how to make companies valuable, but that’s not the only measure of greatness. You need only look at the many accusations and lawsuits around sexual harassment and racism at his companies to realize that they’re maybe not as great as he’d like you to think.

Translated from corporate BS to english: "It’ll be harder for us to exploit and abuse you if there’s someone standing up to us.

Unless that number is more than the profit they made from the sales of those cars, it’s not enough.

And, importantly, it also has function keys.

Ah, didn’t realise they were a troll, but I just took a look at their comment history and wow.

Nothing? I also prefer Android overall, but I have an iPhone because Apple makes the best smartwatch.

From the batteries I’ve seen come out of various devices, that doesn’t seem to be a thing. I’m not an expert, though, so maybe I’m wrong.

It doesn’t have to, though. Just make the phone moderately thicker and stick a bigger batter in there.

On his site he says he uses a mini but prefers Android to iOS.

At least until the Musk deal closes, I assume.

Meanwhile, if I even look at the screws underneath my MacBook, Tim Cook’ll send a squad of mercenaries to my house.

Surely this won’t lead to rampant abuse almost immediately.

Totally. There are some folks who believe that crystals can cure cancer. People believe all sorts of whacky, indefensible things.

They were also the company that best facilitated and amplified his BS for years. Doing a good thing doesn’t mean they didn’t do all the bad stuff that came before it.
