A headphone jack is useful. But to be fair, profit was probably not the reason (the parts for a jack cost nothing), but waterproofing and space for other parts like the battery (a jack requires a surprising amount of volume). And in my experience the Apple dongle actually has better audio quality if you care about that sort of thing.

I agree with the Captain on size and weight, hence I use a Mini. Disagree on the home button.
