I prefer seeing all Icons in the bar, I miss the notification ticker. The horror is only the user not managing their notifications.

Same for iOS.

Yes, I have always thought the same thing. I want tabs on windows explorer, but finder has tabs and I never use it. Columns view is much more useful.

Forklift is needed on mac because finder absolutely sucks, regardless of whether it has tabs.
