It was in 2002-2003, I think, when minutes of prepaid voice were horribly expensive. But yeah, it sucked and it didn’t really take off, apart from with poor high school kids who weren’t a very good target audience for advertisers.

Not a new concept! I used ad-supported calls in the early aughts on my Bouygues Telecom prepaid plan in France. 60 seconds of audio pre-roll ads, up to 2 minutes (I think) of call.

He could use a more sober tone and stick to the facts, rather than make a fake-sounding display of emotion. Reading the room is one of the top skills required at his level and his message is shockingly tone-deaf. It makes him sound like a right w**ker.
